    START

slowly opened my eyes, ready to see the ugly water stains on my ceiling.

Instead, I saw a girl standing right in the middle of my room.

She looked really scared. Her hands were pulling at her hair. My blurry eyes took a second to clear up. It was Emma, Min-jun's girlfriend.

My brain stopped working. Why was she standing in our boys' room?

A sick, terrible feeling grew in my chest. I knew these clothes. I knew these long braids. I was already guessing exactly who I was, but my brain refused to believe it. It couldn't be her. She didn't even live in this building.

Pure fear took over. I pushed myself back to get away from Emma. My bare feet slipped on the cold floor, but I jumped to my feet anyway. I tripped across …
