  • Once again, another night came and went with only a few hours of sleep. Joseph groaned, shielding his eyes from the light coming through from the window. Looks like I'm going to be mostly dead today, he thought glumly, At least I don't have any classes today. But writing my papers is going to be a chore. Knew I should have done some work on them yesterday. There was a soreness in his neck, causing him to groan whenever he tried to turn it. That had been there for a few days now, he wasn’t sure what happened, maybe he slept on it wrong?

He checked his phone, and sighed. Alíz hadn't texted or called him. It had been a few days since he was over at her apartment and so far he'd gotten nothing but radio silence from her. Was it something he did? Did she realize he went into her room without permission? Or did she simply get bored of him? He shook his head, no, no. Please don’t let that be true.

All these thoughts raced through Joseph's mind and he clutched his head, desperately trying to drown each of them out. He opened his phone, about to text Alíz, asking if something was wrong before he stopped himself. No, no, don't do that. Overwhelming her with texts wasn't the way to go. Besides, she's been very clear that she was not a morning person, so trying to contact her now would not be a good idea. But if not now, when?

Still, the silence was making Joseph worry. His first ever relationship and he was dumped before he even knew what he was doing wrong. Please don't let that be the case, he really enjoyed spending time with Alíz, enjoyed being in her arms, enjoyed looking into her eyes, hearing her beautiful voice.

His phone buzzed and Joseph gasped, did Alíz finally text him after all? Could he see her again tonight? His shoulders slumped when he saw the name. No. Of course not.

    Daniel: Hey man, you up?
I was wondering if you wanted to grab lunch or something at the cafeteria?
I'm dreading Sanborn's final and was wondering if we could compare notes?

Well, if nothing else it would be a nice distraction from how sleepy he was. Hopefully he could get a few hours of working on his papers before he met up …
